About the event

Walk Details:

Our group will meet at Centennial Park (right next to playground near pavillion) at 6 pm. We will start with introductions and a couple grounding practices. We will then walk for 20-30 minutes along the Arkansas Riverwalk Trail. We will find a spot to gather and rest to share in a few readings from WALK book. From there, we will make our way back to the park for a closing reading and further connecting/reflecting. We will move at a conversational pace throughout our time. In addition to book readings, Lesley and Jonathon will be guiding participants through a few invitations/practices with local plants, flowing water, trees, and more along the way.

About WALK Book:

"WALK is for those who crave to feel and embody, not just know and study, their way through complex themes that live in each chapter: vulnerability, human dignity, presence, mystery, and resistance. With dedicated practices–like connecting to Earth stewardship, moving into vulnerability, and walking and rolling with intention–Stalls’ WALK is an urgent and glorious call to slow down, look around, and engage with the world in front of us. It awakens us to what we miss when we’re driving by, flying over, and rushing past what surrounds us. It’s an invitation to move, to connect, to participate deeply in the world–and to dissolve the barriers that disconnect us from each other and the living Earth." ~ North Atlantic Books, 2022

Bring:

Water, snacks, comfortable shoes/socks, sunscreen, hats and/or rain gear encouraged as walk will take place rain or shine.

RSVP & Getting WALK Book:

Please RSVP, if you can, so you will receive updates as we get closer. Jonathon will have books available for sale ($20) and it will include a small 4x4 pen art piece to go with it.

I love all things plant related. The mountains call me often to visit and my garden keeps me grounded. I love to teach and be in sacred circle with folks. I can drink tea and stare out the windows for hours then I hear the whispers to create and off I go again.”
