what lives underneath my pride?

what hides inside my story?

who have I hurt with my pain?

are my masks all that I am?

ancient tree, hold me when I feel alone

golden feather, remind me of awe

I might dry up

I may not survive

all twisted inside

will love still look for me?

will others see my beauty?

will I ever know freedom?
